Does it Hurt?

No. Or at least it shouldn't. Ok, some of the techniques go very deep and can cause some temporary discomfort, but not everybody needs those. On the other hand, many of the techniques are highly relaxing (and not everybody needs those either!).

If it does hurt, you can always ask me to stop whatever I'm doing. I do generally try to inflict a bit of pain on rugby players at least once per session, so they feel they've had value for money.

Following deep tissue massage, some people experience a degree of aching the following day. This is frequently described as a 'good ache' - the sort that may be felt the day after a training session.
