What Does it Involve?

Everybody starts with an initial (free) consultation, to identify their requirements and training opportunities. At this stage you will also be asked to tick a few boxes about your health, and this might result in you being advised to check with your doctor before getting physical. If you suspect that this will apply to you, by all means talk to your doctor beforehand to speed things up.

Provided you want to go ahead with it, we will agree an appointment for your first training session and take it from there.

In many cases we may decide to take a look at your diet, and you will be asked to fill in a food diary for a week. If one of your goals is weight loss then we will take various measurements at the first session to check on your body composition (an entirely painless process), and repeat these every few months.

If you’re not yet very fit, your first actual session will be a relatively easy one, intended to assess what you’re capable of without driving you too hard. On the other hand, if you are already accustomed to training, the first one might be designed to push you to your limits.

From then on you will be expected to follow a programme of exercise both in and out of the gym, and with and without your trainer. All designed to fit in with your requirements, commitments, and budget.
